TD Georgette moving in land in NE Mexico
MIAMI — Forecasters say Tropical Depression Georgette is moving inland across the northwestern coast of Mexico.
A tropical storm watch was discontinued Wednesday for the coast of mainland Mexico. Georgette is located just west of Guaymas, and is moving north near 13 mph (20 kph). Winds were at about 35 mph (55 kph) and expected to weaken as it moves over more land, dumping 4 to 6 inches of rain.
Meanwhile, far out in the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Lisa is meandering over the eastern Atlantic with maximum sustained winds near 45 mph (75 kph). Slow strengthening is expected over the next two days.
Lisa is located about 425 miles (685 kilometers) west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands and is moving east-northeast near 3 mph (6 kph).
