Tropical Storm Darby forms in the Pacific

MIAMI — Tropical Storm Darby has formed in the Pacific off the coast of Guatemala.

According to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Darby has maximum sustained winds near 40 mph (65 kph) and is expected to get stronger.

The storm is located about 335 miles (540 kilometers) south-southeast of Salina Cruz, Mexico, and heading northwest around 9 mph (15 kph).

Meanwhile, farther out in the Pacific, Hurricane Celia continues moving west. The Category 1 hurricane has maximum sustained winds near 85 mph (140 kph).
