Thunderstorms suspend second round of Texas Open

SAN ANTONIO — The second round of the Texas Open has been suspended because of thunderstorms and more bad weather is forecast for the weekend.

More than two inches of rain fell Friday at the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio, and officials delayed the tournament for more than seven hours before finally calling off play.

More storms are forecast for Sunday.

Australian Matt Jones will have a one-stroke over Paul Stankowski when the tournament resumes Saturday. Jones shot a 6-under 66 in the first round Thursday.

Zach Johnson, the two-time defending champion, is 8 over.
