Amtrak continues service suspension in New England
BOSTON — Flooded tracks in Rhode Island have prompted Amtrak to suspend some services in the Northeast for the second consecutive day.
Amtrak says Acela Express service between New Haven, Conn., and Boston and Northeast Regional service between New York and Boston are halted because of water on the tracks in South Kingstown, R.I.
Service had been suspended Wednesday when floods made tracks impassable.
Service between New York and Washington continues to operate normally, although there may be delays because of the disruptions in New England.
Amtrak workers will continue to monitor the conditions and re-evaluate the situation later Thursday.
