OU, OSU hoop teams stuck in state due to weather
OKLAHOMA CITY — The winter weather that has shut down Oklahoma City’s airport has also grounded the Oklahoma and Oklahoma State basketball teams.
Oklahoma State is scheduled to play at Missouri and Oklahoma is to play at Nebraska on Saturday. Both teams were stuck in Oklahoma on Friday afternoon.
Oklahoma State spokesman Mike Noteware says it took two hours for the team to make a 70-mile bus trip from Stillwater to Oklahoma City. He says the Cowboys still are hoping to fly to Missouri late Friday.
Oklahoma spokesman Mike Houck says the Sooners also hope to leave for Nebraska on Friday night. He says the Big 12 Conference would reschedule the game if the Sooners are unable to make the trip.
