BEIJING (GaeaTimes.com) — After taking the lives of 11 people in Philippines, typhoon Megi has changed its path. Now it’s moving towards China prompting the Chinese government to close certain services in the region.

According to sources, trains from Sanya to other provinces were canceled until Thursday. On the other hand, trains from other provinces heading towards Sanya will be stopped at Guangzhou.

Megi is apprehended as the most powerful typhoon to hit China this year. It is expected to cause landfall in Hainan or Guangdong province on Saturday, Xinhua News reports.

Meanwhile, Philippines authorities said that casualties were due to various reasons associated with the typhoon such as falling trees, drowning and lightning. They think the land is still vulnerable to mudslides and landslides.

The typhoon is expected to reach Hong Kong and mainland China in next few days. It could lash over Hainan and Vietnam and brings heavy rainfall.
