Philly sets record for snowiest winter in history
PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia has joined Baltimore and Washington in setting a record for the snowiest winter in history.
The National Weather Service said 14 inches of snow was recorded at Philadelphia International Airport as of 7 p.m. Wednesday. That makes a total of 70.3 inches of snow for the season so far. It tops the previous seasonal record of 65.5 inches recorded in 1995-96.
Forecasters say even more snow is possible from a system that is expected to arrive Monday night.
