Summary Box: Snowy weather cuts into BK sales

SNOWY SALES: Burger King said back-to-back months of winter weather will drag down its fiscal third quarter results. The weather cut a key sales measure by 8.2 percent in January and February as storms buried much of the central and eastern U.S. in snow.

LAST YEAR: During the same months last year, the measure of sales in locations open at least a year rose 3.1 percent. That measurement tracks sales in established locations instead of newly opened ones.

WHAT’S NEXT: Burger King is expected to report its fiscal third quarter results April 29.
