2 deaths in Ky. from deadly weekend storms
JACKSON, Ky. — Two additional deaths in Kentucky are being blamed on deadly weekend thunderstorms that also killed at least 15 people in Tennessee and northern Mississippi.
Kentucky Emergency Management officials say one death in Barren County and one in Madison County are weather-related.
Officials in Nashville are preparing for more deaths and for the Cumberland River, which winds through the Music City, to crest more than 11 feet, putting portions of downtown in danger of the kind of damage experienced by thousands of residents whose homes were swamped by flash floods.
At least 11 are dead in Tennessee and four in northern Mississippi.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Cumberland River is near an expected crest of more than 11 feet above flood stage in Nashville following devastating weekend thunderstorms that slammed Tennessee and northern Mississippi, killing at least 15 people.
Tennessee authorities are preparing for more deaths and have evacuated the downtown area and north Nashville where a leaky levee threatened residents and businesses. Flooding could hit the downtown tourism industry, a commuter train depot and nearby LP Field, where the Tennessee Titans play.
At least 11 are dead in Tennessee and four in northern Mississippi.
Thousands of homes have been damaged or destroyed by flooding and tornados. Hospitals, schools and state buildings also were flooded.
