18 hurt when Houston transit train, bus collide
HOUSTON — Officials say a collision between a transit bus and light-rail train in downtown Houston has sent 18 people to the hospital.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority, which runs Houston’s bus and light-rail system, says none of the injuries are reported to be life threatening.
Police say the accident happened about 2:10 p.m. Monday. The cause of the collision is being investigated by Metropolitan Transit Authority police.
Last month, a similar collision between a bus and light-rail train sent nine people to hospitals. In that accident, the bus apparently ran a red light and struck the train.
