Storm prompts evacuations north of Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES — About 200 homes in Los Angeles-area foothills have been ordered evacuated as another powerful winter storm heads toward Southern California.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for parts of Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties that were charred by wildfires.
Deputies will go door-to-door Friday telling people to leave their homes by 6 p.m. in La Canada Flintridge and La Crescenta, two areas at risk of mudslides.
Forecasters say a storm Friday night and Saturday morning could dump up to 2½ inches of rain in those areas.
A mudslide earlier this month damaged 43 homes in La Canada Flintridge.
