NOIDA - A Class 4 student of a Noida school was kidnapped by one of his father’s employees, police said Monday.

Ritik Singh, 10, was playing in his Sector 12 Noida house Sunday evening when an employee of his father came and took him away, Superintendent of Police (City) H.N. Singh said.

“The child was playing with another boy of his neighbourhood on the terrace of his house in Sector-12. A man identified later as Raju Yadav, came to the house,” Singh said.

“Raju Yadav had worked with Ritik’s father Pappu Singh as a helper in his food catering business but left the job 2-3 years back. He had, however, rejoined his father’s catering work in the past few days,” he said.

“Raju asked the boy and his friend to accompany him to the market to share a cold drink or juice, to which they agreed. As Ritwik knew the man, he and his friend went along with him to a market in the neighbourhood,” he said.

After reaching the market, the man asked Ritwik’s friend to bring a Pepsi from the shop and told him that they would be waiting for him at another point. When the other boy returned from the shop with a Pepsi, he found both of them missing.

The boy went home and narrated the matter to the parents of Ritik. “Since Raju frequented his house often, the other boy also knew him and identified him,” the police officer said.

Ritik did not return home till late in the night after which his father Pappu Singh lodged a case of kidnapping against Raju Yadav at the Sector-24 police station.

“Ritik is still missing. The man is absconding. Teams have been deployed to trace him,” Singh said.

Ritwik was studying in Modern School situated in Sector-11.
