NEW DELHI - Two of the four accused in the alleged gangrape of a 19-year-old Delhi University student are said to be juveniles and are still on the run, a police official said Friday.

“We have already arrested the principal accused, auto driver Ranbir (25) in the case. We have also conducted certain technical surveillance and have got information about the three suspects who are on the run,” Additional Commissioner of Police, East, K.C. Dwivedi, told IANS.

Ranbir was nabbed Nov 9. The victim’s mother had helped nab the key accused by posing as the victim and had persuaded him to walk into the trap set up by police in Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital Nov 9.

Ranbir had told police that two of the other accused are juveniles and are suspected to be in west Delhi’s Mayapuri area.

“Separate teams have been sent out to gather information about the accused who are on the run. They will be arrested within two days,” the senior police officer added.

According to police, the victim was doing a B.Com course through correspondence in Delhi University and working part-time at a mall in Noida. She was abducted Nov 3 by the four as she was waiting for her office cab at 4 a.m. They took her in the auto to a jungle near Mayur Vihar Phase III and later to the Sarai Kale Khan bus depot where they raped her.
