Tropical Storm Blas forms off southwestern Mexico
MIAMI — A slow-moving tropical storm named Blas has formed off Mexico’s southwestern coast.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami says the storm formed out of a tropical depression Thursday in the Pacific about 280 miles (450 kilometers) south-southwest of Manzanillo. It was moving northeast around 2 mph (4 kph).
It has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph (75 kph).
There are no coastal watches or warnings.
