Junior wrecks 1 car, bangs up backup at Darlington
DARLINGTON, S.C. — Dale Earnhardt Jr. has never liked Darlington Raceway and that didn’t change after a pair of bumpy practice sessions Friday.
NASCAR’s most popular driver wrecked his primary Chevrolet on the second lap of practice. His Hendrick Motorsports team then pulled out his backup.
Earnhardt then smacked the wall with that car during the second practice.
Despite all the mishaps, Earnhardt says he’s happy with his current setup and pleased with his lap times.
Earnhardt is coming off a 32nd-place finish last week at Richmond that dropped him to 13th in the Sprint Cup Series standings.
