Senate committee to hold hearing on oil spill
WASHINGTON — Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller says he will hold a hearing on the Gulf oil spill in the coming weeks.
The West Virginia Democrat joins other congressional panels that are looking into the spill. Next week, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee are both planning hearings. Rockefeller hasn’t yet set a date for his hearing.
He calls the spill “an unmitigated disaster.” Earlier Tuesday, he said he would have a hard time voting for offshore drilling again.
