GREATER NOIDA - The body of a private firm’s human resources (HR) manager was found here Thursday, police said.

Pawan Upadhyay, HR head of private firm Intra Arch, was found dead around 8.30 a.m., near K-11 in Delta-II, Senior Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Singh said.

His driver Yatendra had called him Wednesday evening to his house. The driver pleaded with him to drop one of his ill relatives to Nizamuddin in a car as he was not in a position to go himself because of a hand injury.

Upadhyay went with the driver and since then the family had no idea about his whereabouts. Upadhyay’s body was found near Yatendra’s neighbourhood.

The manager trusted his driver as he was working with him for the past three years, so he went to his house. Yatendra is the prime suspect and is absconding, Singh said.

Sources said the driver had asked Upadhyay for Rs.25,000 to purchase a second-hand car but the employer was willing to pay only Rs.10,000. This could have angered the driver, provoking him to kill Upadhyay.

Investigations, however, are still being carried out, the officer said.
