Lawyer suspended for vulgarity

GANDHINAGAR - A lawyer in Gujarat has been suspended from practicing in any court for three years on chrages of harassing a client’s daughter through vulgar text messages.

The decision was taken by the Bar Council of Gujarat Monday evening. Its executive chairman, Anil Killa, confirmed the decision saying that a three-member panel had found the advocate guilty.

According to the council, Rajesh Ruparel, an advocate of Amreli, sent objectionable messages to Gitaben Shah, whose mother was his client. When the harassment continued, she complained to the police.

The council found Ruparel guilty of professional misconduct and imposed the three-year ban.
