Explosives seized in Madhya Pradesh town

BHOPAL - A man was arrested in a Madhya Pradesh town with 800 gelatine sticks, detonators and ammonium nitrate Saturday night, police said Sunday.

“As many as 800 gelatine sticks and an equal number of detonators, besides two sacks of ammonium nitrate were seized from a multi-utility vehicle during routine inspection of vehicles Saturday night”, Police officer R.S. Meena told IANS over phone.

The man identified as Satyanarayan Sharma from Rajasthan was arrested in Ratlam district’s Alot town. He was carrying the material from Shajapur district to Mandsaur.

Sharma told police that he was carrying the detonators and gelatine sticks for blasting a well.
