4 relatives killed in Baltimore rowhouse fire

BALTIMORE — A Baltimore fire department spokesman says a 65-year-old woman, two of her granddaughters and her 2-year-old great-granddaughter have been killed in a fire at their rowhouse.

The fire was reported around 11 p.m. Wednesday. Fire Chief Jim Clack says firefighters arrived three minutes later to find flames shooting from windows on both floors of the home.

Fire department spokesman Capt. Roman Clark says three of the victims are tentatively identified as Phyllis Rouzer, her 24-year-old granddaughter Ericka Morris and Morris’ 2-year-old daughter Tyrese Brown. He says Rouzer’s 14-year-old granddaughter was also killed.

The bodies were found in three upstairs bedrooms.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
