Recalls: drop-side cribs, glitter tea lights

The following recalls have been announced:

— About 1,000 “Diane” drop-side cribs, made in Slovenia and distributed by Caramia Furniture of Mississaugua, Ontario, and Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard of Toronto, because slats on the drop-side can detach from the top and bottom rails, posing fall and entrapment hazards to the child. The company received 18 reports of slats detaching from the rails of the crib. No injuries have been reported. — About 40,000 silver glitter tea lights and gold glitter tea lights in the U.S. and Canada. Flame from the tea lights can ignite the glitter on the candle, posing a fire hazard. The products were made in Vietnam and imported by Pier 1 Imports Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas. The company has received three reports of the glitter burning. No injuries have been reported. The recalled silver glitter tea lights have SKU 2410335, and the recalled gold glitter tea lights have SKU 2410322. — About 67,000 ceramic Santa tea light holders in the U.S. and Canada. The products, made in China and imported by Pier 1 Imports Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas, pose a fire hazard. The company has received three reports of the holders burning, but no reports of injuries. The holders were sold at Pier 1 Imports stores in the U.S. and Canada between September and December 2009. — All peanut butter, cheese, salsa, cream cheese bagel spreads, dips and spreads produced by Parkers Farm Inc. of Coon Rapids, Minn., because they have the potential to be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes bacteria. Parkers Farms expanded their previously announced recall of some products after the Minnesota Department of Agriculture said product sampling determined the presence of the bacteria. No illnesses have been reported, the company said.
