Harford County Public Schools Remain Shut Today

HARFORD, (GaeaTimes.com)- Harford had to suffer a tremendous tension due to the wrath of the Tropical Storm Nicole. The storm, which originated in the Atlantic two days back, had been tormenting the state since yesterday with heavy downpour, coupled with felling of trees, blockade of roads, and power-cut in the county. All Harford County Public Schools, will start two hours after its normal time and if the situation demands, it may remain shut for the rest of the day.

Since Thursday, this state has been witnessing rainfall at a stretch. Many tress have been felled by the storm, that has blocked many arterial roads of the county. The authorities, after going through the weather reports and further predictions, declared on Thursday evening, that all institutions, especially the Harford County Public Schools, should start at least two hours after the normal time and if the situation still do not get under control, despite the desperate effort from the relief workers and volunteers, it may remain closed for the entire day. All Harford County Public Schools will avoid the Pre- PK prayers considering the risk involved in leaving the house this morning. The authorities and the weather department said that though tropical storms are common in Harford, Nicole should not be taken casually. They have asked all the residents living in the low land, to formulate a way for relocation in the strategically safer areas, as many more parts of the county, especially the lowlands are yet to get flooded. A few important roads have already been blocked and things may get worse in Harford.

Tropical Storm Nicole was formed two days ago in the Atlantic. It is the sixteenth Tropical Storm, and the fourteenth, that has been named. Formed in 2010 Atlantic season, it has affected north- central Caribbean and all those places that face the Atlantic. It has caused enough hazards so far, although no casualty has been reported yet. In order to avoid the same in the future, Harford has closed most of the offices and every Harford County Public Schools.
