NOIDA - Three armed men robbed a senior BPO employee of his car outside a mall in Noida in Uttar Pradesh, police said Tuesday.

The incident took place around 10 p.m. Monday when Ritesh Gupta, his wife and their two children came out of the Shopprix Mall in Sector 61 here.

A police official said: “After taking out the Maruti Swift car from the parking lot, Ritesh went to withdraw cash from the ICICI Bank ATM in a corner of the mall. His kids and wife were seated inside the car.

“When Ritesh came out and went to his car, three men came and threatened to kill him with a pistol. The assailants asked his wife and children to get down. The men then fled with the car.”

Ritesh raised an alarm and a PCR van, which was stationed barely 10 metres from the robbery spot, reached there.

Eyewitnesses claimed that instead of chasing the robbers, the policemen began questioning the victims.
