BANGALORE - Karnataka police Thursday opposed granting bail to People’s Democratic Party chief Abdul Nasir Maudany, now in jail here for alleged involvement in the 2008 serial explosions in Bangalore.

Maudany, arrested by the state police from his camp in Kerala Aug 17, has sought bail claiming he has been falsely implicated in the blasts that killed a woman and injured 15 others July 25, 2008.

After hearing objections raised by the Karnataka police to the bail plea, Fifth Fast Track Court (FTC) Judge Shrikant Watawati said the final hearing on the matter will be on Sep 6.

Maudany has been in jail since Aug 26, after spending 10 days in the custody of Bangalore police.

The PDP head is the 31st of the 32 chargesheeted in the case.
