NOIDA - Two policemen were suspended Wednesday for laxity when a man was kidnapped outside the Great India Place Mall in Noida.

On Tuesday, three unidentified armed men kidnapped the chauffeur of an exporter while he was in his Corolla car in the parking lot outside the mall.

“Sub-Inspector Dinesh Chand and Constable Sandeep Kumar were suspended for lax duty. They were on duty in a police control room van,” Superintendent of Police (City) H.N. Singh said.

At the time of the incident, the police van was not at the point where it was deployed for patrol duty outside the mall in Sector-38 A, police said.

The assailants drove the exporter’s car, along with driver Naresh, through various sectors of Noida and took it towards Khoda.

Naresh was shot in the back and dumped along with the car near Labour Chowk, police said.

While fleeing, the assailants robbed a student of his motorcycle, police said.
