DUISBURG - At least 10 people died Saturday at a techno-music festival in the German city of Duisburg when crowds of people were crushed in a tunnel leading to the event grounds, police said.

Early reports by news channel NTV said that 15 people had been resuscitated by emergency rescue staff following the crush at the Love Parade event, which reportedly occurred when a security control point was overwhelmed by festival goers.

At least another 15 people were injured, reports said.

The Love Parade is one of Europe’s largest electronic music events, which originated in Berlin and has now been spun off into other cities worldwide. It frequently attracts tens of thousands of participants.
