LONDON - A British gunman, on the run after shooting his ex-girlfriend, her new boyfriend and a policeman, has written a 49-page letter threatening to kill his “enemies”.
Hundreds of people in Rothbury town in Northumberland were living in fear of Raoul Moat, The Sun reported Wednesday.
Moat in his letter listed the names of his “enemies” including workers, council officials, friends and relatives who had wronged him.
Armed policemen are hunting for the 37-year-old killer who shot his ex-girlfriend Samantha Stobbart, 22, and shot dead her boyfriend Chris Brown, 29, in Gateshead Saturday.
Locals in Rothbury were told not to leave their homes as police helicopters hovered overhead.
In his letter, Moat ranted about friends he accused of working as police informants and relatives he said wrecked his relationship with Samantha.
He wrote: “F****** lying *****. I’ve got a good mind to come back and shoot them.”
The letter claimed that police had turned a friend into a police informant.
Moat had earlier posted a Facebook message saying: “Just got out of jail. I’ve lost everything, my business, my property and to top it all off my lass has run off with the copper that sent me down. I’m not 21 and I can’t rebuild my life. Watch and see what happens.”
