British Petroleum In National Spotlight

WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- The oil spill at the Gulf of Mexico that is threatening the coastlines in Louisiana and also endangering the lives of the marine animals is in spotlight once again. As everyone knows, the President of USA Barack Obama is quite concerned about the damage being caused to the coastlines and he is going to address the nation on the British Petroleum tonight on TV. The president is trying to cover all important aspects of the oil spill in his speech and he will make sure the opponent GOP does not get a chance to attack his party on the issue. A White house official said that the President will ask the BP representatives to offer suitable compensation for the disaster. The business entities and people harmed by the oil spill needs compensation.
On Wednesday the president is going to meet the British Petroleum executives at the White House. He will discuss the issues related with the oil spill with the BP executives in detail tomorrow. He will also analyze how the disaster has taken a toll on the environment and can affect the economy of the country. The effect on the wildlife and nature can already be felt by looking at the web and TV footages showing several oil coated birds and marine animals that are dying in the Gulf of Mexico coast.
The President so concerned since the Deepwater Horizon oil rig of British Petroleum exploded almost two months back and even now the oil is flowing. The amount of wastage varies between 12,000 to 40,000 barrels a day.
