TIRUCHIRAPPALLI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com) — It was presence of mind of two pilots that saved the lives of 242 passengers. An Indian Airlines aircraft and Jet Airways flight were to collide over Tiruchirappalli air space on Saturday if timely alert was not given by the pilots.

Altogether 242 people were on board. The Jet Airways was flying from Thiruvanathapuram, while the Indian Airlines aircraft was to land on Madurai Airport around 1.14 pm.
