Cheryl Cole rape threat suspect arrested

LONDON - A 17-year-old teenager has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape threat aimed at British singer Cheryl Cole.

Police launched an investigation in March after British TV host Dermot O’Leary alerted cops to a sexually threatening voice message left on his phone targeting Cole, reports contactmusic.com.

The accused was arrested on suspicion of malicious communication and later released on bail. Cole’s representative previously confirmed the star was aware of the message, but had not listened to it, the report said.

O’Leary stars alongside Cole on Simon Cowell’s talent show “The X Factor”.
