Letter threatens bombings on Canadian pipeline
DAWSON CREEK, British Columbia — Police are investigating a letter that threatened more attacks on northeastern British Columbia’s natural gas facilities, where a series of pipelines have been bombed in the last two years.
Police on Thursday released a copy of the letter addressed to energy company EnCana Corp.
The letter was sent to the Dawson Creek Daily News on Wednesday and says a time-out in the attacks that began last year is over.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sgt. Rob Vermeulen said police are investigating if the letter is from the same person who sent previous notes to the newspaper.
There have been six bombings of EnCana pipelines in British Columbia since October 2008. No one was injured in the attacks.
