Police: 3 killed in Ga. military plane crash
MORGANTON, Ga. — A sheriff’s official says three people were killed when a Florida-based Navy plane crashed in north Georgia.
Fannin County Maj. Keith Bosen says he could confirm the number of dead but did not have details on Monday’s crash in Morganton.
Atlanta’s WXIA reports that Federal Aviation Administration officials say the pilot was among those killed when the U.S. Navy T-39 Sabreliner crashed in Fannin County. Bosen says he could not confirm the pilot is dead.
FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen tells The Associated Press the agency is not investigating.
WXIA reports that police are looking for a fourth person believed to have been on the plane.
Authorities tell the station the plane was based out of the Pensacola Naval Air Station.
Naval officials did not immediately return calls from AP.
