Cobalt 60 Found In Delhi Accident

New DELHI, India, (GaeaTimes.com)- Five people were reported to be severely injured in a Cobalt 60 radiation, which was witnessed in West Delhi around the industrial belt region. It is being said that the chief source of radiation was Cobalt 60 which happens to a very powerful and a hazardous isotope. Several onlookers at the accident spot told how they saw the whole body of the person turned black in a few seconds after the man touched Cobalt 60.

Apart from the one who had been in the contact of the radioactive isotope Cobalt 60 , four other people who were working on the very spot were also injured due to the radiation from Cobalt 60. The cops arrived at the scene a few hours later and went ahead to seal down Delhi’s Mayapuri area in fear of the radioactive radiation spreading out in the area. Reportedly, all the injured in the accident has been admitted to AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) Trauma Centre and are currently undergoing treatment and are under observation.

The situation has also called in the researchers and the scientists coming from Narora Atomic Power Station and Bhaba Atomic Research Centre who performed a thorough scanning in the Industrial belt of Mayapuri in wake of the cobalt 60 radiation. The locals of the Mayapuri industry described the incident as how the man went ahead to pick up the “black shining” object which lay on the ground and ended up turning black within a wink. The scrap shop where the incident took place was reported to have cobalt 60, as determined by the Bhaba scientists.
