GANDHINAGAR - A deputy superintendent of police-rank officer, caught while accepting a bribe of Rs.3 lakh, was Friday remanded in police custody for three days.

P.S. Rana of the Ahmedabad rural division was nabbed accepting the money to favour the investigation in a case.

The anti-corruption bureau laid a trap after Dharmendra Upadhyay lodged a complaint that the officer was demanding Rs.10 lakh for not arresting him in a complaint lodged by his neighbour over a land dispute.

The policeman reportedly settled for Rs.3 lakh and was arrested while accepting the bribe money.
