NATO soldier dies in Afghanistan bombing

KABUL — NATO says one of its soldiers has been killed by a bomb in southern Afghanistan.

The alliance says the soldier died on Friday as the result of an improvised explosive device, but gave no further details.

The latest death was the fifth NATO fatality in the so far this month. On Friday, three German soldiers were killed in a firefight with the Taliban in the north of the country.
