BHOPAL - Two attendants of the Gondwana Express who assaulted a minor girl in a train have been arrested, the railway police said Tuesday.

The 11-year-old girl, travelling with her maternal aunt in an AC three-tier coach, went to the toilet about half hour before the train from New Delhi was to reach Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.

She was perhaps drugged near Sehora station, about 35 km from Jabalpur, Government Railway Police inspector Vijay Bhadoria told IANS.

When the girl became unconscious, the two hid her in a carriage cupboard meant to store pillows and bedsheets, Bhadoria said.

At Jabalpur, the aunt approached the railway police, who discovered the unconscious girl from a deserted coach. Attendants Rahul Yadav and Manoj Sahu have been arrested.

Bhadoria said the two had been charged with assault or and use of criminal force against a woman with a view to molest her.
