MOHALI - France-based members of Punjab’s terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) were disbursing funds to militants in India, police said Sunday.

The terrorists were getting money to sustain their activities in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, a police officer said.

The revelation comes after the arrest of 40-year-old Karwinder Singh, an alleged link between BKI terrorists and their overseas fund providers.

“Karwinder was arrested Friday night from Delhi. He used to procure funds from France-based BKI members. He disbursed it among BKI members in India who bought arms and ammunition,” Mohali police chief Gurpreet Singh Bhullar told IANS.

“He had given Rs.100,000 to the terrorists who were arrested Thursday night,” he said.

Police in Mohali, in a joint operation with Delhi Police, arrested BKI terrorists Daljit Kumar alias Deepak and Purshotam alias Bunty from Zirakpur town. A pistol, cartridges and Rs.100,000 were recovered from them.

Bhullar said Karwinder Singh and the other arrested terrorists were working at the behest of France-based BKI members Purshotam Singh and Goldy, natives of Haryana’s Ambala district.

Another police officer said the BKI members were planning attacks in Delhi and Himachal Pradesh.
