GHAZIABAD - An executive with a private company was kidnapped by five armed men Saturday but was rescued four hours later, police said.

According to police, Sanjay Tyagi, an executive with Dudheswar Packing Company, was kidnapped around 11 a.m. from Pilkhuwa locality of Ghaziabad when he was on his way to his office.

A police officer said five armed men dragged Tyagi into a car on National Highway-24.

Superintendent of Police (Greater Noida) S.K. Verma said the victim was being taken by four kidnappers on two motorcycles when a police team stopped them for routine checking on G.T. Road.

When police, in routine checking, asked them to stop, Tyagi jumped from the bike,” he said.

“The kidnappers could not stop him because of police presence and fled from the spot,” the officer said.
