LUCKNOW - Five children, including a girl, were injured when a country-made bomb hidden in a garbage dump exploded Wednesday in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district, police said.

The children are being treated at a hospital, where the condition of two of them is stated to be critical.

“All five children, aged between 6-12 years, who are rag pickers were injured when the bomb hidden in garbage in the Naubasta town went off this afternoon,” inspector Harpal Singh told reporters in Kanpur, some 80 km from Lucknow.
