Farmer commits suicide over crop failure

PATNA - A debt-ridden Bihar farmer allegedly committed suicide after his maize crop failed, police said Wednesday.

Jagdish Sharma, in his early 40s and a resident of Mohinipur village in Katihar district, reportedly took poison Tuesday night. Villagers said he could not pay back a loan of about Rs.15,000.
