Two people commit suicide in Ghaziabad

GHAZIABAD - Two people, including a woman teacher, allegedly committed suicide here, police said Monday.

A 38-year-old property dealer allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison here, police said.

According to Superintendent of Police (City) A.K. Vijaita, Surendra Sharma, a resident of Sector-3, Vaishali, committed suicide by consuming poison Sunday night.

“Sharma was rushed to a local hospital but he died on the way,” Vijaita said.

A suicide note was recovered from Sharma which stated that he had taken this extreme step after being cheated by some persons of Rs.15.50 lakh.

A case of abetment to suicide was registered at Indirapuram against the persons named in the suicide note - Chander Pal Yadav, Gyan Singh, Amit Bhati, Sanjay Sharma and Modi. Chander Pal Yadav has been arrested.

In the other case, a woman teacher hanged herself in the DLF Colony area.

Meena Mathur,36, the wife of Atul Mathur, hanged herself when her husband was away from home.

No suicide note was recovered from the spot, the police said.
