ISLAMABAD - Gunmen Saturday shot dead a leader of the main opposition political party in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province, Xinhua reported.
Aziz Imrani, president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party in Khuzdar district, was attacked when he was heading to a market from his home, police officer Rehmatullah said.
Although the motive behind the killing was not immediately known, the officer, however, said it could be a result of a personal enmity.
Imrani was injured in a previous attack in Panjgur city of Balochistan.
Situation in Khuzdar district has deteriorated of late. Recently three students were killed in a grenade attack during a cultural show at an engineering college in Khuzdar.
