Haryana police bust inter-state gang of robbers

JHAJJAR - Haryana police Thursday busted an inter-state gang of robbers and vehicle lifters and arrested six of its members who were active in Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan for the past few months.

According to the police, the arrested robbers were planning to loot trucks plying on national highways Thursday night. Police have also recovered a car, a pistol and some sharp-edged weapons from the arrested men.

“We had laid a trap after getting a tip-off from our source and nabbed the accused. We are expecting to solve many pending cases after their thorough interrogation,” district police chief Sourabh Singh said.

“Still six other members of this gang are missing. Police are conducting raids at various places to arrest them,” he added.

Police said that the accused were identified as Satish Kumar alias Kala, Samarjeet alias Nanha, Praveen Kumar (all residents of different villages in Haryana), Rajender Singh, Dhana Singh and Dharmender (all resident of Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan).

Jhajjar town is around 280 km from state capital Chandigarh.
