BHUBANESWAR - Police have been deployed Tuesday in a village in Orissa’s Khurdha district following clashes over Holi revelry, officials said.

Clashes started after one group attacked another during Holi Monday. About a dozen villagers sustained injuries in the clash, police said.

Several houses and shops have been damaged and torched in the village, police added.

We have deployed three platoons of police in the area. We are also doing flag marches to ensure peace in the area, Sushant Kumar Das, Balugaon sub-divisional police officer, said.

We are trying to bridge the difference by forming peace committees, he added.
