Murder convict found dead in Chhattisgarh jail

RAIPUR - A man convicted for murder was Tuesday found dead inside his cell at the central jail in Chhattisgarh’s Durg town, prison authorities said.

The murder convict was Sukhdas, who belonged to Narayanpur district.

Jail officials said the prisoner was in good health and had eaten dinner Monday night but probably died in sleep.

The prison authorities have ordered a probe into his sudden death.

Durg is around 40 km from here.
