SAINT-CHARLES-DE-BELLECHASSE, Quebec — A passenger train has derailed near Quebec City, slightly injuring four people.
Via Rail said Thursday the four were taken to a nearby hospital. The train was carrying about 120 people and 10 crew.
Officials did not immediately say what caused the train to derail.
The accident happened at about 4:45 a.m. near the community of Saint-Charles-de-Bellechasse, and one car slammed into a house.
Via Rail says the train left Canada’s east coast city of Halifax, Nova Scotia on Wednesday afternoon and was headed to Montreal.
Buses were brought in to transport passengers to Montreal.
The accident site is about 12 miles (20 kilometers) southeast of Quebec City.
