Man held for killing senior citizen

NEW DELHI - A 29-year-old milk delivery man was arrested for killing a 67-year-old woman here last week, police said Tuesday.
Nirmal Arora was found dead inside her house in Geeta Colony in east Delhi with injury marks on her face, throat and leg.
Her husband Som Nath Arora, a retired Indian Air Force officer, presently working with a private company was not at home when the incident took place. Cash worth Rs.10,000, Nirmal’s mobile phone and a gold chain were reported missing.
On investigation, the police found that entry into the house was friendly. After this, the police interrogated the house maid, cable boys, neighbours and relatives.
During investigation, we zeroed in on a man who used to deliver milk at the victim’s house. The milk dairy owner told us that Raj Kumar, who had been working with him for the last eight years, hadn’t turned up for work since the day of the incident, a senior police officer said.
Raids were conducted and Raj Kumar was arrested Monday. On interrogation, he disclosed that he purchased clothes from the cash looted from the victim’s house and also sold her stolen mobile phone to Dinesh Mathur for Rs.500. Dinesh Mathur was also arrested and the victim’s mobile phone was recovered, the police officer added.
