BHUBANESWAR - Fourteen people were arrested for killing a criminal and injuring his associate in Orissa capital Bhubaneswar Tuesday after the duo attacked some of them for complaining to the police against their unlawful activities.

Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police Himanshu Lal told IANS that five residents sustained injuries after Tuna Pradhan, 30, and Susanta Naik, 30, who were facing a score of cases, attacked some residents in Salia Sahi Sunday.

The residents later lodged a complaint against them at the local police station.

Angry over the move, Pradhan and Naik, who belong to the same area, attacked the residents again Tuesday, police said.

The residents caught the duo and beat them severely. Pradhan died while being taken to hospital. Naik has sustained critical injuries, police added.
