PATNA - At least six armed robbers looted cash and valuables from passengers of a train and stabbed one traveller in Bihar’s Buxar district, police said Tuesday.

The robbers looted the passengers travelling on the Punjab Mail Express between Ara and Buxar late Monday in Buxar district, about 125 km from here.

The injured passenger was admitted to a railway hospital in Buxar.

“Armed criminals boarded the train and looted cash and valuables at gun point from passengers,” a police officer said.

Train robberies have become quite common in Bihar. Armed robbers looted dozens of passengers on Janseva Express in Saharsa district last week. In August, a passenger was shot dead by a gang of five armed men while a dozen handicapped passengers were looted two months ago on another train.
