LUCKNOW - A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district for allegedly raping his two teenaged daughters for nearly two years, police said Saturday.
Siyaram Rawat, a farmer and resident of Sarai Saif village in Barabanki, some 35 km from Lucknow, allegedly raped his daughters, aged 17 and 14, at a secluded place where he held them captive.
“Rawat was arrested Friday night. He has admitted that he used to rape his daughters,” police inspector Ghanshyam Ram told reporters in Barabanki.
“The two girls somehow managed to escape from a small house in Pahi village where their father had kept them in confinement. Acting on the complaint of the girls, we arrested their father,” he added.
“Nearly two years ago, Rawat took a small house on rent in Pahi village. He told his wife and family, who live in Sarai Saif village, that he would live in the Pahi house as it was near his farm,” said Ram.
“After convincing his wife, Rawat managed to take his elder daughter to his Pahi house and started molesting her sexually. Rawat used to force her to drink alcohol every time before committing the crime. Later, Rawat brought his second daughter and started raping her also,” the police officer alleged.
